Suzlon Energy Limited has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Suzlon Global Services Limited (SGSL), has been penalized by the Office of the Commissioner of Customs (Imports), Mumbai. The imposed penalty amounts to ₹7.47 lakh, stemming from allegations of non-payment of customs duty on casting parts imported from China under Notification No. 42/2017-Cus (ADD) dated 30th August 2017.

The penalty includes a redemption fine of ₹1,50,000 and a direct penalty of ₹5,96,747. However, Suzlon Energy has clarified that SGSL will appeal against this order. The company also stated that the financial and operational impact of this penalty is negligible.
